Kelli J. Spencer’s legal career has primarily focused on domestic, probate, and juvenile law. Ms. Spencer handles all domestic and probate matters for The Hawk Firm, including divorce, child custody, child support, wills, and probate.
A long-time resident of Augusta, Ms. Spencer is an honor graduate of John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School. Ms. Spencer graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Art in History from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon graduation, Ms. Spencer travelled to Niigata, Japan to teach English to Japanese high school students. After returning stateside, Ms. Spencer attended Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana where she earned her Juris Doctor in Common Law and International Studies as a member of the “Katrina Class”.
Prior to joining The Hawk Firm, Ms. Spencer worked as a trial attorney with the Office of the Public Defender and the Law Office of Frails & Wilson. Additionally, she served as the child attorney in the Juvenile Court of Richmond County where she advocated on behalf of children in dependency actions. Currently, Ms. Spencer also serves as a court-appointed guardian ad litem in the Probate Court of Richmond County.
Ms. Spencer is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Augusta Bar, Augusta Conference of African American Attorneys, and the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. Additionally, Ms. Spencer serves as a Board Member of the Riverfront Family Y, as a Trustee of Tabernacle Baptist Church, and as an advisor of the Rosa T. Beard Debutante Club Inc.
